What is la neta?

Growing up as a Latina, I heard the term neta often around Mexican family and friends. We use it in everyday slang to search for validity, truth, and genuine answers from one another whether in statement or question.

“neta?”

“Si, neta.”

Our conversations then become a space for us to remove our filter, to speak from an honest place, and practice real talk in real time and—I LOVE IT.
